Dr. Patricia Bray, Vice Chair

Dr. Bray is the Founder and President of Westlake Health Consulting, LLC, and the founding Director of the BridgeUp Center at The Menninger Clinic, with the mission to improve the mental health and well-being of vulnerable adolescents. She is a passionate, servant leader with extensive public health and philanthropy experience, motivated by commitment to social change, equity and justice for disadvantaged communities. She works intentionally and strategically with communities to design, fund and implement systemic interventions that create measurable impacts.  

Her Executive experience includes working with three philanthropic and healthcare organizations and programs focused on improving health and the social determinants of health. Guiding these philanthropic goals includes a long-standing commitment to eliminating health disparities and achieving equity in and access to health and healthcare, giving approximately $100 million to underserved populations. Her grantmaking approach involves evidence-based and research-informed action with an emphasis on collaboration and participatory community input for which she has received many honors and awards.

Additionally, she has served on community boards for corporate, government and nonprofit organizations, including futuresThrive, the Harris Center Foundation for Mental Health and IDD, the Apollo Chamber Players and the Ignite Healthcare Network. She is also a trained mediator and negotiator, lay chaplain, writer, cellist and award-winning photographer.

She received her PhD in Public Health from The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, School of Public Health.  Her major field of study was in Management, Policy Sciences and Ethics, with minor fields in Biostatistics and Health Economics.  She currently holds an adjunct appointment at the UT School of Public Health and is a senior fellow with the American Leadership Forum. Additionally, she has executive certificates from The University of Cambridge in Strategic Thinking for the CXO; The University of Texas, School of Law, in Mediation, Negotiation and Conflict Management; and The University of California at Berkeley’s Haas School of Business in Negotiations and Influence, among others.  

Dr. Bray lives in the Houston area with her husband, Dr. Stephen Linder, and has three children and two dogs.
