Bob Eury

Mr. Eury holds a Master of Architecture in Urban Design from Rice University and a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Cincinnati. He is also a Member Emeritus on the Advisory Board of the Kinder Institute for Urban Research at Rice University.
Mr. Eury began working in Community Planning & Community Design and Research in 1972. He worked his way up from a Director (Urban Study Center, University of Louisville) to Vice President (Rice Center for Community Design & Research) to President and then to CEO at Central Houston, Inc. (CHI), where he served for 40 years. CHI is a non-profit that has led, overseen and facilitated public & private projects that have transformed Downtown Houston during his tenure. These projects range from award winning lush parks; dynamic, vibrant, fun public spaces; newly built or recently renovated hotels; architecturally stunning high and mid rise residential development; prime modern office work environments; renovated convention center; plus a versatile food lovers destination with food from all over the world rounded out by live music and performing arts venues all supported by regional infrastructure and transit.
A native of Louisville, Kentucky, Mr. Eury is married to Gayle Eury and together they have two adult children, Christopher and Rebecca and four grandchildren. His hobbies include distance running (52 marathons), photography and collecting Lionel trains.
