Kim Torres

Ms. Torres is a strategic and influential leader highly adept in supporting overall nonprofit development plans to deliver increased engagement and revenue. Since 2021, she has been a nonprofit consultant with Thrive Solutions, serving as a subject matter expert to support small and mid-size nonprofits in program and fundraising development. She has also served as Executive Director for Bloom, an organization focused on supporting individuals with IDD, was the Accessibility/ADA Manager for the Houston Airport System and the Executive Director of the Down Syndrome Association of Houston and Project Director for Partners Resource Network, Inc. Earlier in her career she was a teacher and coach in several school districts in Texas.

She earned a Bachelor of Science in Applied Learning and Development from The University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Public Administration from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In addition, Kim is a Certified Fund Raising Executive, a globally recognized and accredited fundraising certification.

As a parent of a teenage son with Down syndrome, Kim has volunteered with a number of organizations that support individuals with IDD, including being a member and co-vice chair of The Harris Center’s IDD PAC, a member and former vice chair of the Texas Council on Development Disabilities, and a member of the Harris County IDD PAC in 2019 to 2020. In addition, Kim has volunteered with the University of North Carolina School of Government, Northwest Aquatics and Klein ISD.
